500 BPM PET Bottle Shrink Bundler | FY-560 Installation
Holland Packaging Installs High-Speed FY-560 500 BPM Shrink Bundler at Midwest Beverage Plant
Holland Packaging has completed the installation of a FYMC FY-560 high-speed shrink bundler at a Midwest beverage manufacturing facility. The new twin-lane system is packaging PET bottles at 500 bottles per minute, producing 3×2 multipacks using registered printed polyethylene (PE) shrink film.
The installation demonstrates Holland Packaging’s expanding capabilities in high-speed beverage packaging automation and provides beverage manufacturers with another solution for demanding 500–600 BPM bottling and packaging lines.

High-Speed Shrink Bundling for PET Bottles
The FY-560 overlapping shrink bundler is engineered for high-output beverage lines where speed, pack appearance and production efficiency are critical.
Unlike conventional shrink wrapping systems that use a sealing bar, the FY-560 uses an overlapping film wrapping process to create a clean multipack without the traditional seal-line appearance.
For beverage manufacturers using branded packaging, the system can run printed PE shrink film with registration marks, allowing printed graphics to be accurately positioned on the finished multipack.
FYMC rates the FY-560 platform for production speeds of approximately 500–600 bottles per minute, depending on bottle size, pack configuration and application. PET bottle applications can reach approximately 90–100 finished packs per minute, with even higher output possible for certain can configurations.
The Midwest Beverage Installation
For this application, Holland Packaging supplied a twin-lane FY-560 configured for:
- Machine: FYMC FY-560 twin-lane high-speed overlapping shrink bundler
- Product: PET beverage bottles, including 5-claw base designs
- Bottle range: Approximately 500–1500 cc
- Pack configuration: 3×2 multipack
- Film: Single-roll registered printed PE film
- Production speed: 500 bottles per minute
- Controls: Allen-Bradley PLC, HMI and servo technology
Each 3×2 package contains six bottles. At a line speed of 500 bottles per minute, the system produces approximately 83 six-bottle multipacks per minute across the twin-lane configuration.
This makes the FY-560 well suited for integration with today’s high-speed beverage filling, labeling and conveying systems.
Why High-Speed Beverage Producers Need the Right Shrink Bundler
As filling and labeling equipment becomes faster, secondary packaging can become the bottleneck.
A properly engineered high-speed shrink bundling system helps manufacturers maintain line efficiency while creating secure, attractive multipacks for distribution and retail.
The FY-560 offers several important advantages for high-volume beverage operations, including continuous high-speed production, twin-lane operation, registered printed-film capability, flexible pack configurations and Allen-Bradley controls.
For plants producing bottled water, soft drinks, juices and other beverages, these capabilities can help increase packaging throughput while reducing the risk that secondary packaging limits overall production.
